Ballyfarnon
village, where the house is located, nestles at the foot
of the Arigna Mountains on the famous Arigna Scenic Route.
It is situated at the lip of three counties: Roscommon, Sligo
and Leitrim.
Sligo,
made famous by W.B. Yeats, is adjacent to Ballyfarnon and Carrick-on-Shannon is
just a short drive away. The market town of Boyle,
with it's historic buildings, is also close by and the ancient city of
Galway can be reached in less than 90 minutes by car.
Should
you be interested in outdoor pursuits you'll find a wide range of activities are
catered for nearby. These include hill-walking, horse riding, golf, tennis
and both sea and fresh-water angling
(on the renowned Lough Key amongst others).
