I was at a schoolboy hurling match in Littleton about 45 years ago. Moycarkey were playing. A woman from the sideline shouted.

" Squeeze 'em up Moycarkey and hang 'em out to dry"

The Horse & Jockey

Above is a photo of the memorial erected to the memory of

the Horse and Jockey Senior Hurling team who won the

1899 All-Ireland at Jones's Road, Dublin on March 24th

1901.

It was unveiled on Sunday evening August 29th 1999

at 8.pm, in front of a very large crowd.
