
Inistioge village is for the romantic. It is one of the most charming villages in Ireland and has been the scene for a number of films, most notably Circle of Friends. The village has number of good pubs and restaurants. There are beautiful walks along the banks of the River Nore and through the parkland of Woodstock Desmense.
The Nore is tidal to just below Inistioge and there are some fine spots for fishing. |

Inistioge is a vibrant community with many events through the year, one of the most popular is the vintage steam rally held on the first weekend of every August. |
Situated in the parish of The Rower and Inistioge, these two villages combine to make up the local hurling team. Hurling is one of the World's fastest field sports. If you have not watched it before, try to watch one of the local games to get a sense of this unique Irish sport in its heartland of County Kilkenny. |
