Report:
Cork City were knocked out of the FAI Super Cup at the semi-final stage for the second consecutive season tonight in Colin Murphy's first game in charge as City boss. Murphy, who questions the validity of the competition, decided to use it to give some of City's younger players a bit more experience.

Joe Gamble and Damien Delaney, both members of last year's FAI Youth Cup winning team were started, and scored both of City goals.

Bohemians were given a great start when Declan Daly scored an own-goal after just eight minutes. Irish youth star Joe Gamble struck back for City five minutes into the second half, but twenty minutes later Bohemians were back in front.

Damien Delaney, who captained and scored for the Youth Cup winning side equalised with minutes remaining, but Bohemians won on the match 5-4 on penalties to face UCD in the final.

Cork City will play double-winners Shelbourne in the 3rd place play-off at Belfield on Sunday. (CityNet)
