Report:
CORK CITY continued to shoot blanks in the Eircom League Premier Division at Buckley Park where they did well to survive in a 0:0 draw after their keeper Noel Mooney was red carded in the 55th minute.

Ironically, Mooney’s dismissal followed a tiff with his old Cork City team mate Jason Kabia. Mooney was about to make a clearance when Kabia tugged at his jersey.

The keeper lashed out and was sent off with referee Paul Whelan of Dublin showing Kabia a yellow card. Cork went close two minutes into the second half when Mark Herrick headed a Colin O’Brien corner over the top.

Following the dismissal of the keeper the Cats took over and it was sub goalkeeper Alan O’Shea who came to Cork’s rescue when he dived bravely at the feet of Kilkenny’s Warren Parkes.
