The
46th World Military Boxing Championships are being held this week at
the Defence Forces Training Centre in the Curragh, Co. Kildare.
The competitions began after the opening ceremony on Sunday 08 September
with the finals being held next Sunday 15 September.
The event is organised as part of Ireland’s membership of CISM
(International Military Sports Council).
Members of the Irish Defence Forces will compete against boxers from 24 other countries, including national and international champions from Germany, Italy, Russia, South Africa and the USA.
