Irish Aeromodeller, Gerard Feeney, Greets Model Aircraft 'High-Fliers' near and far ....

I'm a Republic of Ireland aeromodeller who's been 'at it' for the last 25 years ! I started in 1975 with simple free flight models, then I quickly moved on to the real love of my life Radio Controlled Model Aircraft. I have taught about 80 to 100 people to fly RC models since about 1980, and I am still at the task whenever possible.

My main interests are sport models as they are best suited to the rough-ish rural Irish pastures I fly from. I have flown a whole cross section of model aircraft over the years and my latest project is the Top Flite Beechcraft Bonanza. There is a lot of work in this one. I have been building it on and off for almost 3 years!!When will it be ready? Don't ask me that question too often !!!!My everyday 'hack' model is the Calypso Trainer. This rebuilt version of my very first 1975 RC Trainer is just over 5 years old now, and continues to fly well.

I also write for RCM&E magazine, so if you pick up that publication look out for my name. Check out my latest (Man Of Letters) article all about cutting letters from solartrim.

If you are reading this outside Ireland I am living in the mid west in County Roscommon which is just to the left of the River Shannon, which more or less cuts the Country vertically down the middle. In fact I am in the County next door to Donagh Cummins who kindly is allowing me to say all this in his RC Aeromodelling Site.
