Project Description
We have purchased a house in Ladysbridge County Cork as of Dec 2009.
Project Goals
To see if we can live together until death do us part - hopefully the rest of our lives. But we have set a 5 year introductory period to see if we can. After 5 years we can shut it down and see what else we can do.
Schedule
In process of updating and furnishing house. DONE....living together now for over 2 years and we are still alive.
Why?
This is simply an alternative lifestyle option not some spiritual mandate. The nuclear family has well known failures built in such as abuse, divorce and loneliness. Shared living is very common these days and of course it is the norm for many parts of the non-western world and has the potential to have a more grounded human experience.
Personal Note:
I (Doug) personally do not want to end up alone with my wife in our own little house. I want to have my friends with me as I get older. BUT this is a Christian community. Bound together by a commitment primarily to living out the gospel together as a testimony to the power of Jesus.
