On Friday 20th of October 2000 Ballyshannon got a new bridge
across the River Erne. The footbridge with a span of 23 meters can be seen
below being lifted into place by a 180 tonne crane.

Below: - The Bridge as it nears completion on Tuesday morning (24th
October 2000). It was constructed by Steele & Co. Ltd from Wexford
and took 2 days to travel to Ballyshannon.
