How to get there As you drive into Killeagh you will see the Old Thatch across from the Catholic Church.  Behind the Old Thatch is a drive way taking you up to the wood itself.
Is pre-registration required? No
Time of event From 2 to 5 PM
Duration The walk will take about 1 hour
Suitable for Most people.  There will be some steps involved, but no hill climbs.
Special Instructions Bring a packed lunch - there are picnic tables available if you want!

Glenbower Management Plan
To all those that use or have an interest in the well being and the future of Glenbower Wood.
The committee has engaged the services of the “Ecological Consultant” Tim Gittings, to produce a management plan for the future of the woodland and its facilities.
The drawing up of this Management Plan is now complete, and it can be viewed in pdf format, by clicking below.

The "Footbridge over the Dissour " as painted by David Willis of Irishpaintmagic when he was in the Wood for the "Music in the Wood 05" day.
You could own this magnificent painting and have it hanging on your wall because David has now donated this picture to the wood maintenance fund and it will be raffled at the August Bank Holiday Monday Music in the Wood 06 in the wood


Cards will be available at most of the usual outlets in and around Killeagh, further details nearer the time.

In conjunction with the Southern Regional Fisheries Board, the Dept of the Marine has designed a new lake that could be constructed within the boundaries of the old lake.

However this construction will be extremely expensive and beyond the financial scope of the local community. It is envisaged that this could be part financed by a grant from the Government or the E.U., but there will be a need for major fundraising schemes to be run locally to raise a significant part towards it.
