We would like to offer our sincere thanks to all the people who helped to give Díotóir life, particularly our colleagues in the Irish Air Corps without whose support, help, guidance, knowledge and expertise, none of this would have been possible. A special thank you must go to the members of the Officer's, NCO's and Airmen's Messes, Baldonnel and Welfare for their generous donations.
The team thanks the men from the EOD (bomb disposal) section of the Irish Defence Forces in Clancy Barracks, Dublin for their invaluable assistance and we hope to see them in a future series!
The Gerry Ryan radio show on RTE's 2FM deserves a special thank you for the help they provided in raising sponsorship and support for Díotóir and also for the name Díotóir!
Our hydraulic system was donated by the masters of hydraulics at Nelson Hydraulics in Tallaght. Batteries were supplied by Sterling Components. Steel and other metals were provided by Amari Metals. The Irish Woolen Mills in Dublin gave us enough fur to cover Leinster. A very fine trailer was custom built for us by Westwood Trailers in Naas. Modern Plant in Dublin provided us with chains, switches and pneumatic equipment along with invaluable guidance. The very nice gentlemen from Cablecraft in Dublin made some high quality cables for us.
Kentree in Co. Cork supplied the two powerful motors that drive Díotóir and these were delivered all the way to us in Dublin by Legal Express Dispatches. It seems that the third series of Robot Wars would not have happened if it wasn't for the Tig Welder that Metron gave us and the fourth series would not have happened without the inverter welder supplied by Weldtech (and of course Zulu's wonderful welding). Sure Weld in Dublin provided us with a grinder and general hardware was donated by Atlantic Homecare on the Naas Road.
We also have to thank Irish Ferries for getting us to England to compete.
Finally, we would like to thank the fire crew for not killing us.
