The Brookwood Simmental Herd is registered to Noel Woods, but brothers
Michael and Gerard also breed stock registered in this herd.
This herd has been
built up in the last 8 years, and during this time has had numerous winners on
the show scene, including 2nd place in an All Ireland Simmental
Championship in 1997,and 3rd place in an
All Ireland in 1998.

Study
A bull in an
average suckler herd may produce up to 45 calves per year. A weanling from a
good Simmental bull is likely to weigh between 30-60 kgs more than his
counterpart.
Thus your
additional yearly income can be 45 * 30 kgs * £1/kg = £1,350
Take an average
working life of a bull as five years = 5 * £1,350 = £6,750 extra income.
This is not taking
into account the extra premium which may result from improved quality and
conformation of Simmentals.
