Late Presentation, Credit Expired & Late Shipment

Documents not presented within 21 days after the date of the transport document or within the stipulated time period.

It is quite often the case that documents are dishonoured for reasons that can be corrected or for which an indemnity may be given, but by the time the exporter has attended to this, the time period has elapsed and thus the corrected documents are refused when presented due to 'late presentation'.

Care should be taken not to exceed this period when correcting documents and representing.

Documents are regularly refused for reasons that the credit has expired or a late shipment. A large number of rejections could be avoided by timely planning.
