lives and let those desert places in our hearts bloom.
God's love can do this."

CONCEPT OF THE LOGO FOR ‘YEAR OF
FAITH’ 11 OCT ’12 - 24 NOV ‘13
The logo is composed of a square,
bordered field on which a boat, symbolizing the Church, is represented
as sailing on a graphically minimal representation of waves. The main
mast of the boat is a cross from which sails are displayed in the form
of dynamic signs which compose the trigram [a word that is written
with three letters]of Christ (IHS).
The background to the sails is a sun which, associated with the
trigram, refers also to the Eucharist.
[The trigram IHS
is derived from the
Greek word IHSOUS (ΙΗΣΟΥΣ)
for Jesus, or refers to Iesus Hominum Salvator, Jesus
Saviour of Mankind, representing the Holy Name.]

Diocesan Clergy Retreat

Excerpt from Letter of
Appreciation from the Vicar General - Diocese of Torit
"On behalf of His Lordship, Akio Johnson Mutek,
Bishop of the Diocese of Torit, in my own capacity as Vicar General, and
in the name of all the priests who participated in the spiritual exercises
you directed together with your colleague, Teresa Kehoe, from the 6th
to the 10th of December 2010 at the St. Joseph Center in Ikotos,
I write to express our profound and heartfelt thanks.
We very much appreciated your emphasis
on the Eucharist as the source and summit of our priestly and Christian
lives, the essential role of the Holy Spirit in our spiritual lives and in
the mission of the Church, the centrality and importance of the Scriptures
and the necessity for personal prayer. I know I speak for all those who
participated in saying that it was a graced moment of spiritual renewal
for us, and an experience that opened new horizons and perspectives for
our priestly ministry."
