More History On Rovers

There have been many different eras in the history of Shamrock Rovers so much so that it would require a volume in itself to record all the activity of the past.

Today,there are older supporters who will argue that the team of the "twenties" was the best ever.Around this time emerged the famous forward line emerged the famous forward line of the "Four Fs" of Bob Fulham,John Joe Flood,"Kruber" Fagan and Billy Farrell.

The Coads Colts will be remembered by those who supported the club during the fifties and such was their reputation during that period that they played to packed houses wherever they went.O'Callaghan,Burke,Mackey,Nolan,Coad,Ambrose, Peyton and Tuohy was the team that won all before them.

During the sixties the likes of Pat Dunne then Mick Smyth,Frank ONeill,Mick Leech Mick Lawlor,Joknny Fulham etc.,came along to play their part in the history of the club.

Many supporters will no doubt, claim that the team which won the league title for a record four seasons in a row and along with it for three of those seasons, the FAI Cup was the greatest ever.Players such as Dermot keely,Kevin Brady, Pat Byrne,Alan Campbell,Liam Buckley and Noel Larkin were just some of the players who were involved.
