Some useful web design resources.

Learning HTML and Web Design

Beginners web design and other courses are available online at low cost in a very friendly atmosphere at the Virtual University http://www.vu.org/

A Beginner's Guide to HTML
If you want to look at only ONE resource, this one should be it. Included are links to other resources to help you keep learning.

HTML Goodies "Tutorials" Pages http://www.htmlgoodies.com/primers/basics.html
One of the best places to find out how to learn different web-page related tasks. This link is to a section full of tutorials.

The HTML Reference Library
An excellent downloadable resource for HTML info. Version 4 requires IE4 or greater to use it. The HTML Reference Library v4.0 http://www.htmlib.com/

HTML Editors and Text Editors

Evrsoft 1st Page 2000. This is a really fantastic HTML editor that has lots of features. I can't believe that software as good as this is free of charge.

Allaire HomeSite is probably the best HTML editor that you can download and use. This trialware version expires after 30 days. Here is a freeware version of HomeSite that is fairly robust, and you can use it forever at no cost.

http://www.notetab.com A free text editor that will take the place of Notepad on the Windows platform. You'll wonder how you ever did without it.

For the Mac I believe that Barebones have a demo of BBEdit but this trialware version won't let you save your work. Barebones also has a freeware (but less robust) version of this product, called BBEdit Lite.

A very good selection of software and some good tutorials are available from Tucows.

Graphics for Your Web

I don't want to have to travel all the way from Ireland to kill you for stealing my graphics. So with this in mind I've included a couple of good resources for free graphics.

Pambytes Free Clipart, Web Graphics & Fonts http://www.pambytes.com Free images, excellent quality.

Clip Art Connection http://clipartconnection.com/ Huge database of images which is searchable with links to libraries.

IconBazaar's Other Icon Collections http://www.iconbazaar.com/others/ A good listing of links to graphics sources.

If you want to create your own graphics then you won't go wrong with Paint Shop Pro Probably the best shareware program for graphics creation on the Windows platform. Also good for manipulating images. The latest version includes an application called Animation Shop added by JASC which works with PSP to create animated gifs.

If you difficulty creating your own site or perhaps you haven't got the time or inclination to do it yourself then please Contact us for a free quote, we're not expensive!
