It was a blistering hot day in the Savanna. All the animals of the tribe of
Kilmansaivo were sunbathing on the restful bank of the river Nile. The heat
of the sun baked down on their backs rendering them inactive. Each animal
journeyed to the cool soothing river for entertainment. The rhinoceroses
were wrestling in the mud, the elephants were having a water fight, and the
monkeys were organising a bananathon. Down by the waterfall the
hippopotamuses were showering. Everybody was enjoying the relaxed leisure
time except for one, Georgina Giraffe......

Georgina Giraffe was always stubborn -she never thought of anybody but
herself .She had hardly any friends because of this. That day she took a
walk to clear her head when "suddenly" she heard gunshots. She "ran"- not
knowing where she was going to - to an unknown part of the jungle. The
sunlight began to fade and the Nile began to end. In the distance she saw
the outline of green reptiles moving swiftly through the weeds and tall
grass. The ripples of the water swished violently, as she slowly backed away
not knowing that a pile of eggs lay behind her. She tripped backwards and
fell cracking most of the eggs except for one small egg at the bottom of the
pile. She quickly retreated out of the jungle bringing the egg with her. It
was now dark and the trees were blocking the sunlight completely so she went
home. She looked after the egg for 3 days until.

``BANG BANG BANG.`` The door nearly came off it's hinges. ``BANG BANG".
``Who's there`` replied Georgina Giraffe. Georgina got up and opened the
door. There at the door was a tearful dragon. ``I lost my eggs, I lost my
eggs``. They were all broken but one and that one was taken. ``I've knocked
on everyone's door and they haven't seen it" wailed the dragon. "No, I
haven't" replied Georgina forgetting she was the one who had taken it. "I
think someone stole it" said the dragon. When the dragon was leaving she saw
a pot on the fire. " What is in the pot" asked the dragon. "Nothing,
nothing" said Georgina. When the dragon left she was curious so she came
back later. She sneaked in without making a sound she looked in the pot and
there it was her lost egg but surprisingly she didn't take it. She waited
till the morning and then she called the police on her mobile. The police
arrived promptly, the police were hippopotamus and they crashed down the
door. One of them said " Georgina Girrafe you are under arrest for steeling
a dragon egg".

"You'll have to come down to the station with us" one hippopotamus shouted.
As Georgina was being led legcuffed to the awaiting squad car the Dragon
shouted from the crowd "How could you steal my last egg? You heartless
giraffe". Down at the station the police questioned Georgina. The Detective
came into the room the chief was watching through an invisible window. After
hours of questioning Georgina was charged with robbery and a court date set.
When the big day arrived Georgina pleaded not guilty, she explained she was
only taking good care of the egg as it had been abandoned by it's careless
owner. After all evidence was heard the court was adjourned and the Jury
went off to decide Georgina's fate

The Jury returned with neither all sad nor all happy faces.
The Jury then slowly read out the verdict."Georgina Giraffe we find you guilty as hell".
Suddenly there was a loud explosion. The Animals all ran around in a terrible state of panic.
The Hippopotamuses ran like real cowards. Georgina made her way quietly out of the Court
almost grazing her head on the top of the Courtroom door. Before she left, Georgina made
sure to grab the egg and take it with her. Curious as to what had caused the explosion,
she made her way around the back of the Courthouse. There she found a few of her
not so many friends, who had an open-top double decker bus ready and waiting for her.
They all left for a more deserted part of the Savannah. When the egg finally hatched it was not a
dragon at all, at all, but a very intelligent chicken. The chicken continues
to live with Georgina Giraffe's family in the pure air of the Jungle.
