Highlights
- WrestleMania XV started out with Howard Finkel introducing Boyz II Men who sang "America The Beautiful."
1 Snow is in early control taking both wrestlers to the outside. Al Snow has brought a hockey stick into play. Gunn broke the stick over Holly's back. All three wrestlers are back in the ring. Snow has regained control thanks to the head and has tossed a table into the ring. Gunn crushes the skull of Holly with a chair. Gunn throws Snow through the table, and then covers Snow but Holly breaks up the count, and covered Snow for the 3-count.
2 On Sunday Night Heat (28-Mar-99) prior to WrestleMania XV, a Battle Royale was held to determine the challengers to the tag-team titles. D'Lo Brown and Test were the last two men in the ring, so they qualified to be the challengers.
3 Vinny Pazenzia was the Guest Referee. The outside of the judges were Kevin Rooney, Chuck Wepner, and Gorilla Monsoon. Butterbean and Billy Gunn also had their own trainers. Butterbean amazingly knocked out Gunn two consecutive times in the first round of this three-round bout.
4 Paul Wight hit Mankind with a chair and the ref called for DQ. Mankind is announced the winner. Mr McMahon come out yelling at the referee and Wight. Wight goes to chokeslam McMahon but sets him down. McMahon is in Wight’s face and slaps him. Wight returns the shot and knocks out McMahon. Meanwhile, Mankind is being stretched out of the arena. Patterson and Brisco carry McMahon to the back. McMahon then called the police to arrest Wight.
5 The stipulations of the Four-Man Elimination match were that two wrestlers would be in the ring and the other two in the corner would have to be tagged in to enter. As the match went on, Ken Shamrock had Val Venis locked in the Ankle Lock, but Venis made it to the ropes. Venis and Shamrock brawled through the aisle. Both didn't make it back to the ring on time, so they were counted out. Goldust was tripped either purposely or accidently by Ryan Shamrock on the outside of the ring, followed by a pin from Road Dogg.
- On the outside of the arena, Paul Wight was arrested by Philadelphia police. He was placed in a car and hauled out of the arena.
6 Before the match, the feathered chicken attacked Kane from behind. Kane took off the chicken's mask, and it was Pete Rose. Rose wanted revenge after Kane attacked him at WrestleMania XIV. Kane once again Tombstoned Rose. In the match, after Helmsley took the advantage, Chyna made her way down to the ring. Helmsley set up Kane for the Pedigree, but Kane was able to counter. Later, Helmsley wanted to Pedigree Kane onto a staircase on the outside of the ring, but Kane flipped him over onto the mat. Chyna asked Kane to let her hit Helmsley with a chair, but she surprisingly hit Kane with the chair instead. Helmsley followed with two hard chairs shots and a pedigree onto the chair. Helmsley and Chyna hugged after the match, seemingly indicating that Chyna was back in D-Generation X.
- Backstage, Kevin Kelly announced neither Paul Wight nor Mankind could officiate the WWF Championship match due to Wight's arrest and Mankind's injury. Mr McMahon walked into the picture and announced he would be the Guest Referee of the match.
7 The referee was accidnetly knocked out after Tori dived onto him. Sable set up the Sable Bomb, but Tori countered with one of her own. Nicole Bass made her first appearance by entering the ring and powerslamming Tori. Sable smiled at Bass, as Bass left the ring. Sable then nailed Tori with the Sable Bomb for the win.
8 Test accompanied Shane in the match. Shane tried to walk out in the beginning, but X-Pac brought him right back in. Later, as the referee was distracted by Shane, Test entered and clocked X-Pac with the European Title belt. Shane went for a pin, but X-Pac kicked out at the last second. Then, Helmsley and Chyna made their way down to the ring. X-Pac nailed Shane with the X-Factor, but couldn't make the pin because the referee was distracted by Chyna. Helmsley entered the ring and surprisingly pedigreed X-Pac. Helmsley then placed Shane's hand over X-Pac for the pin. It seems that Helmsley and Chyna joined The Corporation. Following the match, Helmsley, Chyna, and Test worked as a team to attack X-Pac. The New Age Outlaws ran in to the aid of X-Pac, but were out-numbered. Kane made his way down for revenge on Helmsley, but could not catch up to him nor any of The Corporation members.
9 Handcuffing the Undertaker to the cage, the Bossman hammered UT with his nightstick. With his forehead busted open, the Undertaker seemed like easy prey for the Boss Man's attacks. Finally, the Undertaker pinned the Bossman after the Tombstone Piledriver. The Brood descended from the ceiling, perched on top of the cage. They tore their way into the Cell, and a noose was wrapped around the Bossman's neck as the cage was raised.
10 Surprising Mr McMahon, Commisioner Shawn Michaels sent McMahon back to the locker room, appointing Mike Ciota as the referee. The Rock and Austin came face-to-face, and the match started. Austin was thrown into a table, and both took into the crowd and all over the arena. Back into the ringide area, Austin throws The Rock back into the crowd. Moments later Austin is knocked back inside. Austin is back body dropped onto the lights, but later wrapped a cord around The Rock. The Rock blocks an Austin suplex on the concrete and gives one of his own. Austin barely kicked out of The Rock Bottom, and inadvertantly knocked out the referee with a chair. Tim White takes over as the second referee. Austin kicked out of near falls. After the Rock destroyed the second referee, Earl Hebner became the third referee. Mr McMahon then came out and knocked out Hebner, and helped The Rock double team Austin. An injured Mankind limped to ringside, knocks out McMahon and became the fourth referee. Austin avoided the Corporate Elbow, nailed the Stunner, and covered The Rock, and Mankind counted the 1-2-3. McMahon gets in Austin’s face. Austin goes to hand the title to McMahon but punches him in the face. He throws McMahon into the ring and gives him the stunner
