Start at OSI grid ref. M 172 067, a few miles north of Lisdoonvarna. Climb southwest for 3.8km on the road, then turn right onto the track, past gate. There are about 8 gates to pass on this section. After 2.8km, turn right at the junction and continue to the rocky descent. You may encounter cattle on the track at any point, so don't scare them and close all gates you pass through. At the road junction, continue southeast, take a left and follow the track which winds downhill back to the road. Turn left and continue to the Burren Way track which will take you over the hill back to the starting point near the road junction.
