Health Industry Bar Code
(HIBC), 'Supplier Labelling Standard'.
This is a voluntary
standard developed by the Health Industry Business Communications Council,
because the commonly used EAN-8 and EAN-13 codes could not meet the needs of
the Health Industry for inclusion within the code of batch specific data.
HIBC is referenced in EU
Standards developed by CEN TC 225.
Copies of the Standard are
available in the USA from HIBCC
and in Europe from EHIBCC.
