Graphical symbols for use in the labelling of medical devices.
It was reported in the July 23rd 2001 edition of the journal 'Clinica' that CEN
has approved a new symbol for indicating the sterility of medical devices.
The new symbol is regarded as a compromise aimed at manufacturers who cannot
guarantee sterility to 10-6. The new symbol, which will be
introduced in an amendment to EN980, is for aseptic processing without terminal sterilisation.
CEN has yet to set a date for publishing the revision to EN980.
