At age 17 in the year 1921 Leo was assigned a new post of uilleann pipe teacher in the Dublin Municipal School of Music. This was the first time traditional music was taught there. The presence of the uilleann pipes on the curriculum did a lot to elevate their image.

Chris Langan (1915-92) was a piper, pipemaker and composer originally from of Rush (Co. Dublin). A regular visitor to the Willie Clancy Summer School in Milltown Malbay during the '80s. This tune was written out by Leo ... originally from correspondence to Chris after he had emigrated to Canada. Thanks to Cranford Publications for the above document.
