JUNIOR CYCLE
At Junior cycle level Saint Fanahan's offers a well balanced
curriculum, without overloading the students. It includes many unique features:
All subjects are offered to both boys and girls.
All Junior cycle students take Art.
All Junior cycle students take Computer ECDL exam.
All Junior cycle students have timetabled Physical
Education.
All Junior cycle students take Science.
Junior cycle students take Civic, Social & Political studies.
All Junior cycle students take Religion.
Subjects:
Irish, English, Mathematics, Science, French, Religious Education, Computers (ECDL), Metalwork, Art, Craft & Design, Business Studies, History, Materials Technology (Wood), Physical Education, Geography, Home Economics, Technical Graphics, Technology.
SENIOR CYCLE
Saint Fanahan's College offers three different fully recognised and certified programmes by the Department of Education and Science:
Leaving Certificate (traditional)
Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme
(LCVP)
Leaving Certificate Applied (LCA)
Both Leaving Certificate (traditional) and LCVP draw on the same subject pool. All students take Irish, English, Mathematics and French. They then choose 3 from the following pool (subject to sufficient numbers opting for that particular subject): Biology, Physics, Accounting, Business, Art, Engineering, Construction Studies, History, Technical Drawing, Home Economics (Social & Scientific) and Geography.
All subjects are available at Higher or Ordinary level.
