Upon your arrival in
Middle-earth you will have many choices to make. You would be wise to consider them
afore-time, so that when the moment comes you can be considered in your decision.
Race
The free peoples, the races of Men, Elves, Dwarves and Hobbits, are the free
peoples of Middle-earth. In choosing a race you acquire the propensities and aversions of
that race, such that a Man may master horses more quickly than a Dwarf, who prefers stone
and metals. In selecting a race you are also accepting the responsibilities that come with
that choice, not to bring shame to your peoples or sour their name.
Name
You will need to devise the name by which you shall be known in Middle-earth. We
implore you to consider this fully and with care, for it is a momentous decision. A tome
will be made available, affording you suggested names appropriate to your race and nature.
Appearance
You will, as a new wanderer in Middle-earth, be given the rare chance to decide the
nature of your looks.
Class
Each of us chooses a class or profession to determine our predilection for skills
and abilities. To aid you in this choice, consider information in the FAQ.

"Gandalf dropped back to where Legolas rode beside Éomer. 'You
have the keen eyes of your fair kindred, Legolas,' he said; 'and they can tell a sparrow
from a finch a league off. Tell me, can you see anything away yonder towards
Isengard?'"
