Ships

Behold, the swan-ships of Círdan will take you away from these shores of Middle-earth, to other places and peoples. Some will be reflections and mirrors of Middle-earth itself, rich in history and strange images, steeped in the lore of Eru and the Valar of the song.

The Elves of the Havens, however, do not control nor can be held accountable for the lands to which the ships take you, and you take sail upon them at your own risk.

"But it was an old tradition that away over there stood the Grey Havens, from which at times elven-ships set sail, never to return. 'They are sailing, sailing, sailing over the Sea, they are going into the West and leaving us,' said Sam, half chanting the words, shaking his head sadly and solemnly.'"
