Let's support the Premiership!
The above cartoon, taken from English soccer magazine "MATCH", is the latest example proving that we really should support the Premiership. This is part of a cartoon strip from MATCH which shows the Sunderland F.C.players receiving their Premiership badges for the sleeves of their jerseys (Sunderland got promoted from the English Div.1 to the Premiership this year). So the authorities handed to them the different sleeve badges as the new ones are different because the team got promoted.
So of course Niall Quinn, being an Irish man, irons the Premiership badge directly onto his arm rather than the sleeve of his shirt.
The sheer snideness and racism illustrated by this magazine is quite disgusting. Even Kickin magazine saw fit to highlight it. And still, the Irish people lured towards Englishness by buying this magazine will fail to recognise the clear racism here and they will continue to purchase this rag. Because of their constant reading of this crap, they have lost their identity and consequently are not disturbed by this s***.
I am not over-reacting here. MATCH magazine contributors are aware of their Irish costumers, yet the above example indicates the sheer carelessness of their Editors. The cartoon also provides ample illustration to us of what value these Editors have of our race. This should prove blood-boiling for genuine soccer supporters on this island, armed with knowledge of the horrendous allegiance towards this nations soccer. This cartoon had to be produced by someone, before being passed through the editors. Despite this, the racism-fuelled work was deemed printable. And even more bitterness is felt when one realises that Niall Quinn is a more intelligent man than most other footballers, it seems, as he has his own newspaper column. He also presents a business programme on Irish t.v. Yet, he was of course Irish and hence is a Paddy, a susceptible thicko.
I urge all Irish people who, for whatever reason purchase this rubbish to re-think about it. Do they deserve our money after this sad cartoon?
